Planner's Pub: Kaarin Knudson, Architect and Urban Designer

  • sam bonds foundry 540 East 8th Avenue Eugene, OR, 97401 United States (map)

Over the last 10 years, Kaarin has led innovative urban design, planning and architecture projects of various sizes, and her work has been honored at the campus, building, interior, and urban scales. As a partner at LARCO/KNUDSON, she helps teams and leaders accomplish sustainable urban design and position multiphase projects in an era of changing climate and disruptive technologies. A talented collaborator, she is drawn to projects with ambitious sustainability goals, meaningful place-making objectives, consequential public involvement, and complex site requirements. One such project is Better Housing Together, a community coalition working to address housing policy in the nation’s 2nd tightest housing market (Eugene).

Trained as a journalist before becoming an architect, Kaarin is currently co-authoring a book on sustainable urban design. She also teaches architecture and urban design in the UO College of Design and is a board member of the Architecture Foundation of Oregon.

Kaarin will discuss her work along with the importance of setting high standards and creating the paths to reach them.

Free pizza will be provided to attendees.

This is a free event open to students and the community!
